I want to give my 1970 Volkswagen Beetle a more vintage look. The stock bumpers and fenders (the humps above the wheel well) I would like to replace with those of some of the earlier models, i.e. the chrome bumpers from the early 60’s -67’s models and the earlier fenders which have a horn grill beneath the headlight (So the horn can be better heard, I guess.) These choices are purely aesthetic for me, but are there any unforeseen risks in mixing and matching parts from these models? I know Volkswagens underwent minor changes during their rule of the roads, but would these changes work, or would they simply cause problems?
