It does not matter because it's illegal to do. The air bags all have to function if the car has them from the factory for that model year.

I am not sure about the Impreza but I have heard that disconnecting the battery can prevent the airbag light coming on. You may need to leave it disconnected for a while beforehand.

I don't think you can based on the ECU setup within that vehicle.
Just my 2 cents but you'll live longer if you leave the airbag where it belongs and your insurance company can cancel any claims made on your policy if a safety item like the airbag is removed.

Well you would have to put a resistor in the connector what was of the right value and this would keep the light from coming on…I don't know exactly what the value is for that car…usually it's 2-4ohms…I think…
